{Benefits of the Cross) Death Day 1

Verse: Romans 6:4

Romans 6:4 (NASB)
Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.
Romans 6:4 (NIV)
We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
Romans 6:4-5 (MSG)
That's what baptism into the life of Jesus means. When we are lowered into the water, it is like the burial of Jesus; when we are raised up out of the water, it is like the resurrection of Jesus. Each of us is raised into a light-filled world by our Father so that we can see where we're going in our new grace-sovereign country.

Benefit of the Cross: We are given a newness of life.

Faith Statement: Because of Your death, I am given a new life.

And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night. And they overcame him because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.

Revelation 12:9-11 (NIV)
The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him. Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: "Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of his Messiah. For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down. They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death.

{Benefits of the Cross} Blood Day 10

Vacations are fun, but it is so good to come home and thus get our study going again!!

Verse: Hebrews 10:19-22

Hebrews 10:19-22 (NASB)- 19 Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus,20 by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh,21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God,22 let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled cleanfrom an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Hebrews 10:19-22 (NIV)- 19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus,20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body,21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God,22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

Hebrews 10:19-22 (MSG)- 19-21 So, friends, we can now—without hesitation—walk right up to God, into "the Holy Place." Jesus has cleared the way by the blood of his sacrifice, acting as our priest before God. The "curtain" into God's presence is his body.22 So let's do it—full of belief, confident that we're presentable inside and out.

Benefits of the Cross: We can enter the Most Holy Place by his blood.  We are given a new way of living.  Our consciences have been cleansed.

Faith Statement: Because of your blood, nothing separates me from coming into your presence.

Because of your blood, I can live a life worthy of You.

Because of you blood, I am no longer weighed down by all the things I have done.

{Benefits of the Cross} Blood Day 9

Verse: Hebrews 9:22

Hebrews 9:22 (NKJV)
And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.
Hebrews 9:18-22 (MSG)
Moses said to the people, "This is the blood of the covenant God has established with you." Practically everything in a will hinges on a death. That's why blood, the evidence of death, is used so much in our tradition, especially regarding forgiveness of sins.
Hebrews 9:22 (NASB)
And according to the Law, one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

Benefits: The blood of Christ makes it possible for our sins to be forgiven.

Faith Statement: Because of Your blood my sins are forgiven!

{Benefits of the Cross} Blood Day 8

Verse: Hebrews 9: 12-15

Hebrews 9:12-15 (KJV)  Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but in his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.  For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who thought the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your on science from dean works to serve the living God?  And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were  under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Hebrews 9:12-15 (MSG) He also bypassed the sacrifices consisting of goat and calf blood, instead using his own blood as the price to set us free once and for all.  If that animal blood and the other rituals of purification were effective in cleaning up certain matters of our religion and behavior, think how much more the blood of Christ cleans up our whole lives, inside and out.  Through the Spirit, Christ offered himself as an unblemished sacrifice, freeing us from all those dead-end efforts to make ourselves respectable, so that we can life all out for God.

Benefits: The blood of Jesus cleanses us and frees us from sin.

Faith Statement: Because of Your blood, I stand before You purified and sinless!

{Benefits of the Cross} Blood Day 7

Verse: Hebrews 2:14

Hebrews 2:14 (KJV)
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
Hebrews 2:14-15 (MSG)
Since the children are made of flesh and blood, it's logical that the Savior took on flesh and blood in order to rescue them by his death. By embracing death, taking it into himself, he destroyed the Devil's hold on death and freed all who cower through life, scared to death of death.
Hebrews 2:14 (NASB)
Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

Benefits: When Jesus died on the cross, the devil became powerless!

Faith Statement: Because of Your blood, the devil has no power over me!!

Verse: Ephesians 1: 13, 14

Ephesians 1:13,14 (KJV)

In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,  who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory.

{Benefits of the Cross} Blood Day 1

Here we go!! As I had mentioned earlier, in this study, we will be studying the benefits of the cross by looking up words, that pertain to the cross, in the concordance, and then looking up each of those verses, and claiming the benefit that Jesus gave us.

Here is the process that we will use for this study: First, I decided that a good way to start would be with the word BLOOD.  I looked up this word in the concordance and selected some verses containing the word blood.  Next, I used the you version Bible, which allows you to look up verses in many different versions of the Bible to look up the first verse. After reading the verse, I ask myself, "What is the benefit of the cross mentioned in this verse?" Finally, after finding the benefit, I make a Faith Statement and claim that promise/benefit! So Let's get started!!

Verse: Matthew 26:28

Matthew 26:28 (KJV)
For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Matthew 26:26-29 (MSG)
This is my blood, God's new covenant poured out for many people for the forgiveness of sins.
Benefit: Christ's blood forgives sins.
Faith Statement: Because of your blood, I stand forgiven.

Tomorrow's Verse:  Acts 20:28
